Mindful Aging

Specialized mental health care for midlife and beyond

Mental health is important at every stage of life.

Aging is a complex process that brings with it a multitude of life events, both positive and challenging. Life events that impact our mental health might include retirement, loss of a loved one, financial difficulties or coping with a serious illness. Another one of our greatest obstacles is the threat of dementia. Some individuals may experience feelings of grief, social isolation or lonliness. When these feelings persist, they can lead to anxiety and depression.

Effective treatment options are available to help adults and older adults manage their mental health and improve their quality of life. Recognizing the signs and reaching out to a health care provider is the first step to seeking emotional, psychological, and social well-being.
